About

Hello everyone, my name is Emma!

In 2023, I moved to Kodiak: Alaska’s Emerald Isle. While I’ve sailed competitively for well over a decade, the great Alaskan wilderness was calling. To explore, I picked up new skills: hiking, surfing, backcountry skiing, photography, etc. Keep reading to learn about the amazing nature Kodiak has to offer!

Before moving here, I was beyond excited to learn about this historic town, wild nature, and dramatic landscapes that characterize living here.

After researching, I realized there wasn’t much on the internet about making the most out of living and adventuring in Kodiak. The only information I could find was from a couple travel blogs and a few Alaska-based websites. These all featured the same few locations, often without going into much detail.

After an injury prevented me (and still is preventing me) from exploring the vast Kodiak wilderness for a long while, I put my time to good use and created this site. The purpose is twofold. First, to share my adventures with my friends and family. Second, to provide future Kodiak residents a resource to help them explore and appreciate this beautiful place!

Enjoy, and thanks for reading!
